Jeff Groenewald - Group Managing Director
Basix Technologies Group; Scanning; Security; Traffic (Bona Electronic Solutions)

As the Managing Director of Basix Technologies, Jeff Groenewald has successfully grown the company into one of the most recognized security turnkey solution organizations in todays market. Jeff established the company in 1991 after identifying a market existed for electric fencing. The company experienced great success and naturally diversified into other areas within the security arena.

With a background in electrical engineering, Jeff has had the ability to recognize niche technology based markets. For many years Jeff was instrumental in offering a vast range of security solutions to the banking industry and obtained long term contracts with BoE and the ABSA Group, which to this day is one of the companys most valued clients. In addition, Jeff secured the internationally recognized agency for AS&E who have a unique X-Ray technology, which is proving to be the preferred choice for our governmental organizations and the combating of crime and terrorism.

More recently, and with government requiring state of the art surveillance for our national roads, Jeff established Bona Electronic Solutions, a subsidiary company of Basix, together with ICT Works being a female Black Empowerment company. Bona has successfully implemented some of the most advanced solutions to solve our traffic challenges of today, and as a result has an unprecedented offering of services, consulting and solutions in the field of intelligent transport.

Today, Jeff is continuing to expand the organization and clearly recognizes the need to allow his staff the opportunity to obtain equity in their operations. Together with economic empowerment and social responsibility programmes in place, Jeff is constantly striving to ensure that Basix Technologies and its subsidiary companies thrive in such a complex but exciting market and is successfully managing a staff of over 60 people in branches throughout southern Africa.

Glenn Cunningham - Operations Director
Basix Smart Scanning Solutions

Glenn Cunningham, the Operations Director for Smart Scanning Solutions is responsible for leading all aspects pertaining to sales and technical for the AS&E range of products in Africa.

Prior to joining Basix Technologies in 2002, Glenn was the Operations Manager of the Tellumat Electronics plant which subsequently won the Plessey most improved business unit award in 2000. For the majority of his career, Glenn has been involved in one form or another with electronics; from R&D to project management, and has been internationally trained by AS&E on all aspects of the product range, and therefore in conjunction with sales, provides comprehensive technical support, maintenance and service for the brand.

Although Glenn's main portfolio is Scanning, his technical knowledge has been a valuable asset to Basix concerning the other divisions of the company and will frequently involve himself in the design, implementation and support of security turnkey solution projects.

Adrian Groenewald - Operations Director
Bona Electronic Solutions

Adrian Groenewald is the General Manager of Bona Electronic Solutions. With his Bachelor of Commerce (B-Com) qualification, Adrian has the pivotal role of handling all aspects of the marketing, logistics and purchasing management, and the financial and strategic management of Bona, which over the last couple of years has had a multi million rand turnover. His key accounting, banking and finance management has had a fundamental effect on the stable growth of this highly successful organization.

Laurence Fourie - Engineering Director
Bona Electronic Solutions

Laurence Fourie joined Basix Technologies in 1997 as a Senior Technician and very quickly rose within the organization to Systems Engineer for Bona Electronic Solutions. Laurence's strongest characteristic is problem solving. He has an exceptional broad technical knowledge of all aspects pertaining to electronic security and with his key understanding of local and wide area networks which have come to be paramount in this industry, Laurence has excelled as both a systems engineer; project manager and training manager for the organization.

Robert Groenewald - General Manager
Durban Branch, Basix Technologies

Robert Groenewald is the regional manager for Basix Technologies, Kwazulu Natal. After leaving university in 2002, Robert joined Basix as a Technician specializing in the installation and maintenance of CCTV and Access Control Systems. In 2006, and with his ever growing knowledge of this industry, Robert excelled in the design, planning and implementation of security systems countryside, which in turn led him to become project manager and ultimately, head up the Durban based operation. Today, Robert handles all aspects pertaining to the day to day operations, including all staff, projects and sales, and is the occupational health and safety officer for the area.

Neville Croyle - General Manager
Cape Town Branch, Basix Technologies

After owning an Electrical Installation Company from the knowledge and learning Neville Croyle obtained in the Navy as an A-Grade Artisan, and at Technical College where he obtained his NTC4 in Electronics and Electrical Installation license, Neville joined Basix Technologies as the Regional Manager for the Cape Town operation. Neville has involved himself in all aspects pertaining to the Basix operations; from installations to project management; sales to the day to day running of a highly successful division of the company. Neville is extremely resourceful and has exceptional people leadership skills making him an intrinsic asset to the entire organization.

Shaun Thomè - Sales Director
Bona Electronic Solutions

Shaun Thomè joined Basix Cape Town over eight years ago and was quickly relocated by the organization to the Johannesburg head office to become involved in the day to day sales of electronic security. Today, Shaun is the National Sales Manager for Basix Smart Traffic Solutions / Bona Electronic Solutions. He played a vitally important role in Bona being awarded some of the most prestigious projects in the intelligent transport (ITS) market.

His product and technical knowledge was paramount in the company being awarded the alternative option proposed for the ITS pilot project on the Ben Schoeman highway in Johannesburg, and was instrumental in the re engineering and re design of the entire system. The system in its entirety has proved to be of such success and the reason why Bona has been awarded each further expansion project thereafter.
